PRESS RELEASE:
It is with a heavy heart that we must announce that due to the Coronavirus Social Distancing guidelines, all 2020 activities – Annual Tractor Cruise, Annual Threshers Show, meetings and our Annual Appreciation Dinner have been cancelled. This decision didn’t come easily, but when it all comes down to the bottom line, the most important thing is the health and well-being of our spectators, exhibitors, volunteers and our community. Recently, the Montgomery County Fair Board had to make the same decision, and we know first hand the intense struggle of balancing between “trying to do the right thing” vs “The Show Must Go On”. We hope that 2021 will bring the steadfast support for both the Montgomery County Fair and The Montgomery County Old Threshers that our small community has always provided. It is also our prayer that 2021 will be free of this virus that has caused so many adjustments to our every day lives. The Montgomery County Old Threshers members will be working hard to make 2021 our best show yet and look forward to seeing you the first Saturday in March for the Toy Show. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns at 573-999-5741 or vrj91@earthlink.net – Valerie Johnson.

It is with heavy heart that we must announce the official cancellation of the 2020 Montgomery County Old Threshers Show. After following the recent COVID-19 situation in our county and the state in general, the directors met again and decided that to protect the general public from the continued spread of this disease, the yearly show would have to be cancelled.

On the bright side, that means everyone has more time to get their projects finished up for the 2021 show.

The MCOT directors have met and decided to proceed with preparations for the 2020 Old Threshers Show on August 21-23. However, if there is another government ordered shutdown of public activities during that time then the show will be cancelled. If a cancellation takes place, vendors and campers who have already paid for their spots will be refunded their fees. This website will be updated with any changes as they happen.

At the request of our Association President this announcement is to update all of our guests and members on the current status of the Montgomery Count Old Threshers Association’s planned events for 2020.

TO ENSURE THE HEALTH AND WELL BEING OF ALL OUR GUESTS AND MEMBERS, AS OF APRIL 1, 2020 AND LASTING UNTIL THE GOVERNMENT AND AFFILIATED HEALTH AND DISEASE CONTROL DEPARTMENTS DECLARE THIS COVID-19 PANDEMIC TO BE OVER AND NORMAL PUBLIC ACTIVITIES MAY BE SAFELY RESUMED, BE ADVISED THAT ALL MONTHLY MEETINGS ARE CANCELLED AND ALL EVENTS ARE ON HOLD PENDING OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT OTHERWISE.

Affected events include the 2020 Tractor Cruise in June, and the 2020 Old Threshers Show in August. If conditions improve enough we may still try and make these events happen, but there are NO GUARANTEES and we will not be taking chances. If there are any questions please contact us.
